Difference between buying V-Bucks on Xbox, PC and Consoles

Fortnite Platforms

One of the most frustrating issues when playing Fortnite is opening the game on your PlayStation or Nintendo Switch and realizing that the V-Bucks you bought on PC are not there. Did they scam you? Was there an error in your account?

The reality is much simpler, and it has to do with how Epic Games and console manufacturers handle money.

The Epic Games Wallet: The V-Bucks you purchase are tied to the platform where you made the transaction. The V-Bucks you earn in the game are indeed shared across all platforms.

The problem of cross-compatibility

Currently, there is the Fortnite Shared Wallet. This means that V-Bucks purchased on PlayStation, Xbox, PC, and cloud mobile devices are shared.

The only giant exception is Nintendo Switch. If you buy V-Bucks on the Nintendo eShop, you can only see and spend them when logging into the game from your Nintendo Switch. Similarly, if you buy V-Bucks on your PC, they will not show up if you open the game on your Switch.

What happens if I buy from an unofficial shop?

If you buy a V-Bucks card code or buy from a store that asks for your account to "load" the V-Bucks on a specific platform, you will run into this limit. If they load 1,000 V-Bucks from a PC and you only play on Nintendo, your balance will show as zero.

Why UltraPavos doesn't have this problem

At UltraPavos, we decided to eliminate this headache. How? We don't load V-Bucks, we send you the cosmetics.

By utilizing the official Epic Games Gifting system, we buy the item you want (skin, pickaxe, emote) and our bot sends it to you as a gift.

Now you know why sometimes your V-Bucks balance seems to disappear when switching consoles. Forget about that problem by buying exactly what you need directly through our gift system.
