Sending gifts to your friends in Fortnite is one of the best features the game offers. Whether it's for a birthday, a special date, or just to do them a favor, gifting a skin or a pickaxe is super easy, although Epic Games requires certain security settings beforehand.

Mandatory requirements to gift in Fortnite
Before you can press the "Buy for a friend" button, you must make sure your account complies with these rules imposed by Epic Games:
- Enable 2FA: You must have Two-Factor Authentication enabled on your Epic Games account.
- Be level 2: Your account must have reached at least level 2 in the game.
- Be friends for 48 hours: You cannot add someone and gift them something instantly. Epic Games requires both to have been friends in the game for at least 48 hours before processing a gift.
- Daily gift limit: You can only send a maximum of 5 gifts every 24 hours.
Step by Step: How to send the gift
Once you meet all the above requirements, the process is super simple:
- Enter the Item Shop inside Fortnite.
- Select the Skin, Emote, or Pickaxe you want to gift.
- Click the button that says "Buy for a friend" or "Buy as gift".
- Your friends list will open. Select the name of the person who will receive the gift (remember they must be added for more than 48 hours).
- Optional! Choose a wrap or a gift box with a personalized message.
- Confirm the purchase. V-Bucks will be deducted from your account, and the receiver will see a gift animation the next time they enter the game.
What happens if my friend already has the item?
The game will not allow you to gift an item to someone who already has it in their locker. Also, offers for real money, levels, and certain special bundles cannot be gifted.
The trick: How to gift skins paying less
